Black and White in a nursery wouldn’t be most parent’s first port of call, but there really is something sophisticated and classic about it. If it’s done well! And seeing as babies see in black and white when they are born it kinda makes a lot of sense!
Add in some primary colours or pastels and it can work to soften the look – or to add personality to the space as your child grows up.
Chalk board paint is a fun way to introduce black into a toddlers room, if you don’t want to go all out with a monochromatic palette.
The other thing that I like about a black and white scheme is that it’s easy to add other colours to it further down the track if you wish. Or you could introduce it with a few accessories – here are a few of my favourite monochrome treasures at the moment…
